"All right, Mr. DeMille, I'm ready for my close-up"...

is the most famous quote by Gloria Swanson (playing Norma Desmond) as she descends the opulent staircase (and into total insanity) at the end of Billy Wilder's film noir classic movie "Sunset Boulevard".
The film is ranked number 16 on the American Film Institute's list of the 100 best American films of the 20th century.

This is an edit of an older image of a marble stairway in the Mansion Carvajal in Campeche Mexico. [link]

Nice atmosphere.

Capitalism and religion kill the animals, individuals and society. They can kill you in a variety of ways, slow or quick. There can be no happiness or peace on this planet, no prosperity for the masses, as long as this slavery continues.

Thank you kindly :)

Very atmospheric. I love the grand decadence of early Hollywood and this captures that mood.

Originality is a bourgeois concept.

Nice photo. Yes it was a great picture although overacted as so many of the old ones were by todays standard.

Thanks so much Ayhan! Someone suggested over a year ago that I try a black and white type "treatment" but I didn't have the proper programs then. So pleased that you like it:)

Thanks very much! Yeh I love that era too and actually saw some of those old estates years ago when I lived there. I wish they had digital cameras back then :)
