Benjamin Franklin: "Lighthouses are more helpful then churches."

Frank Lloyd Wright : "I believe in God, only I spell it Nature."

Napoleon Bonaparte: "Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich."

Samuel Clemens "Mark Twain": "If there is a God, he is a malign thug."

Thomas Edison: "Religion is all bunk."

Thomas Jefferson: "The Christian god is a three headed monster; cruel, vengeful and capricious. If one wishes to know more of this raging, three headed beast-like god, one only needs to look at the caliber of people who say they serve him. They are always of two classes: fools and hypocrites."

A few months ago I received a note here on dA titled "THE INVITATION TO THE DEATH-PROJECT" from a deviant here named Exilentia Exiff exi-exi.  She is an author, photographer, and the cooperating editor for  nEgoist - a Polish publishing house, that specializes in art books. She and her friend from Mexico, Hector Pineda HectorPineda were collaborating on a book of images which show the variety of the death-motive:

"You are invited to take part in this project. The album should be published in the spring 2009 in English version, in a quite limited /about 300 issues/ edition and a high quality of the book is expected. As a gratitude for your attendance in the project, you will get one issue of the album.
If you are interested in that cooperation, please let me know
" read the note.

Needless to say I was very interested! I was thrilled to death lol. She had originally selected my photo from the cemetery in Barcelona Spain called "El Beso de la Muerte" but I suggested she look at the color version: "Kiss of Death", which she liked better. Having recently acquired PS4 I worked on a newer (better?) final version "The Final Kiss" for the book.

At the last minute I was informed that the publisher's lawyer had reservations about using my image because of possible EU copyright law infringement. Exilentia informed me, however, that she had found another image of mine that she would include instead. Well I snapped right out of that depression quickly! The image she selected was a photo of an acrylic painting I had done in NYC for "the Bone Show" at the infamous Limelight, the church turned nightclub, made famous in the movie "Party Monster". My original image, "CruciFiction" (lower left),  was from a scan of a dusty 3x4 inch print. Luckily I had recently found a color slide of a later version of this painting which I scanned with my new scanner that handles film negatives and slides. The painting was  purchased by a NYC doctor for her private collection some time ago. Both photos were of unfinished versions. The finished painting had two flying saucers shooting beams down onto the figure and was titled "Jesus and the Flying Saucers".

The original submission and the final approved selection and re-submission.
I recently received the registered letter from Poland containing the contract which I signed and have returned. I will of course upload a photo of the book when I receive my copy provided all goes as planned. ..........................................................................................................................

Many thanks to Hellsplumber for saving me tons of time and aggravation. Be sure to see him if you need any special work done: flash, digital or traditional. :)
